YOU WANT HIGH QUALITY, LOCALLY RAISED BEEF

WE'RE HERE TO HELP

The Flying L Ranch was purchased in 1949 by the Healey brothers, which started the dawn of an era within the Hereford breed in America. Since the beginning, we have been leaders, early adopters, and primary drivers of change in the industry. This spirit is still alive today in the third generation of operators and is the driving force behind our regenerative ranching practices and direct to consumer sales.

This evolution of our ranch has allowed us to make investments that allow us to produce the most premium, high quality local beef available in Southern Oklahoma.

Our goal is to provide beef worth bragging about.

We have optimized our protocols through the years to ensure the highest quality of life for our cattle. These efforts in turn deliver a better end product to you.

When looking at buying beef from a local ranch, the quality of life that animal had makes a significant difference in what ends up in your freezer in both quality and quantity.

When an animal lives in a low stress environment with access to high quality forage and clean water, their ability to gain weight and intramuscular fat increases significantly. This ability to gain, sends you home with more, better tasting steaks, burger and roasts.

Flying L Ranch beef has been proven, over and over, to have the best flavor and be more tender than any beef we have tested.

Our animals are grass fed and finished for 120 days on a finely tuned diet of grains and grasses, then finally, dry aged for 21 days to ensure you have meat worth bragging about in your freezer.

If you still have questions or are curious about what else goes into getting your animal, check out our pricing page to learn more.

Your Options For Buying Local Beef From The Flying L Ranch

Quarter

This is approximately 110 pounds of finished beef and is perfect for a small family. We recommend getting on our schedule to get a quarter every 4 months if you are feeding more than 2 people!

Half

This is approximately 200 pounds of finished beef and is perfect for a family that eats beef a few times a week! Most of our customers go through a half every 6 months.

The whole cow

This is for the true carnivores. If you eat nothing but organic locally raised beef for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the whole cow is what you need! You can expect roughly 400 pounds of packaged meat.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

The 2 inch Flying L Ribeye is honestly, one of the best steaks I've eaten.

An obsession with

QUALITY

We're proud of our process. These are the principals we have built our brand on and what make us a partner you're proud to have.

History of excellence

We are bringing our historic obsession with quality beef production directly to you, the customer.

Sustainable practices

The decisions we make raising our cattle, take the future generations into account. We are good stewards of the land we have been blessed with.

No middle man

We are cutting out the middle men, the retailers and all the hormones and preservatives they have to use to get their product to you.

Premium quality

We believe in the golden rule and carry that into our business. The beef we sell to you is the same beef we feed our families. And we’re proud of that.

We obsess over the details.

There will always be room for improvement when raising cattle so we capture and monitor data about our herd on a daily basis with that in mind. We have been keeping detailed records on all of our cattle for decades to help us make the best decisions for our overall herd health.

In addition to the genetics and health records, we track non traditional metrics like. how good of a mother each cow is, how healthy their calves are and what their overall demeanor is. Tracking these data points ensures we only keep the best of the best in our herd and maximizes the benefits from the extreme measures we take to give our animals the highest quality of life possible.

This ensures the quality of what you take home.

Some say it’s excessive, we think it should be
